Tonight: Reception, Crandall Public Library, 5 to 7 p.m. for Maria’s show, “Cut It Up,” a collection of her quilts in the library gallery. We got some crackers and cheese the other day. Public is welcome, of course, and no charge. Also, new Bedlam Farm notecards are up on the Redux Art Gallery site.
I am coming to believe that life is a series of struggles, defeats and victories, and there are battles, for lack of a better terms, that simply must be win. This is a Churchillian idea, in part. The world struggles between light and dark, and we we have to fight for the light within us, the peaceful, compassionate and creative parts of ourselves.
I have been chronicling such a struggle every since I began the blog, and so many of you have shared it with me. I’ve learned a lot about it. It never ends, it’s never over, it can’t be lost or abandoned. It is hard work. But I like Churchill’s notion. What is the goal? Why, victory.
