One of the many odd features of my life is that I am always doing things I never thought I would do, and often insisted I would never do. I never liked the idea of notecards, of my photos being so little and sold like baseball cards. Course when I saw the the Image Loft did, I fell in love with them. Like Maria’s potholders, they are art, delivered in smaller, accessible forms and sent out into the world. The first batch – there will be more – include a barn and cows in a storm, Rose and Izzy and Lenore, Frieda,an uncharacteristically vulnerable shot of Rose napping.
I can’t count the amount of time, money and energy that have gone into these photos- many of you know – and the larger ones have a power and depth that is very important to me. But the notecards have a punch all of their own, and I am proud of them. I hope they do as well as the potholders. I am not selling them, myself. Christine Nemec of Redux is the only person who is (I might bring some to some local bookstores), and she will be posting and offering them online shortly. Some people have ordered some on the phone 802 867-4211. With all the pricing and printing and other issues resolved, this just may turn out to be fun.
