December 3, 2009 – Rainy, cloudy. Izzy and I will be at the newly re-furbished, re-opened, expanded Battenkill Book Store at noon this Saturday in Cambridge, N.Y. 518 677 2525,  to sign books for Christmas. Mary Kellogg will be with me to read from “Whistling Woman,” her new volume of poetry. And the Battenkill has all kinds of food and celebrations planned for their re-opening. There is concern in some quarters about books and bookstores, and publishing is surely changing, like everything else, but I think books and bookstores will be around for a long time.  Battenkill has been booming, as have a lot of bookstores I know.
