25 October

Greetings from Bedlam

October 25, 2009 – Where the sun is struggling to break through, the ground is soggy from a lot of rain, and expectations are high of a Yankee victory. I am especially grateful today for the gift of photography, which helps me share my life and which forces me to be honest about it – photos do not lie. Cows are everywhere, and they always remind me to calm down, accept life and move through it more slowly.
It takes time to learn and grow and really change and among my many shortcomings, none is more toxic than impatience. I don’t really even grasp the concept of patience and of accepting the powerful reality that time is its own master, and I am a bug on the windshield next to it. Cows seem to know this.
Time is the enemy of fear, in some ways. When you kneel to time, fear weakens.
