The daily Teacup

by Jon Katz

August 18, 2009 – Someone write that the teacup is a pure expression of love. I think this may be so. “Soul Of A Dog” book kicked off this morning, with interviews starting at dawn and working through the morning. Good stuff, lots of talk about souls, some questions about Michael Vick, some stories about Rose, Elvis, Mother the barn cat, who are all in the book. Izzy pulled his stitches out and we raced back to the vet. Going to Saratoga Barnes & Noble tonight for an impromptu book signing (not a reading), as I always do the first day of a new book.
I’ll be there around 7, I think, just to sign their books. Book tours are exciting, crazy. Facebook and Twitter have been interesting additions to the tour, and very helpful.
Izzy just returned from the vet all bandaged. I rejected the offer of one of those collars, which he hates and I hate. We’ll just change bandages and keep an eye on him. People say border collies are smart, and they are, but they do many dumb things. And they are all nuts in one way or another, and you have to laugh a lot.
