Any human that brings a border collie like Rose to sheep is very important. A critic was unhappy with me for being skeptical of the Disney Dog thing – dogs who love their master so much they wither and die when they pass. I always say that Rose loves me for bringing her to sheep, and if you bring her to sheep, she will love you too, and quickly. Same goes for Lenore and burgers. That’s what I love about the love of dogs for people. It is highly conditional and highly adaptable and transferable.
  Rose is very fond of me. But she loves herding sheep even more.
