May 15, 2009 – Maria and I are heading out to Vermont for a day or so. Give the blog a brief rest.  Cool it down.
  The farm is in good hands, the dogs are in a good kennel. Hope to read, take photos, sleep, read some children’s books – I am definitely going to be doing children’s books, at least three, and also read my editor’s notes on my novel. In her words, I have a “tremendous amount of work” to do on the novel. I am eager to do it. I love this book.
  I’ll miss the John Clark barn, but am thankful for the experience, and the torrents of lovely messages from all over the country. I am still grasping the power of photography to capture emotion. I’ll be blogging today, and then be back online Saturday or Sunday.
