Every afternoon, we go out and feed and grain the ewes we hope will lamb in the summer. Rose presides. Sometimes, she works by herding, and moving sheep. During feeding, she goes and gets the sheep and likes to take up post in the barn door and keep an eye on things. I love this shot. It captures, I think, her sense of proprietorship, her notion of keeping watchm even if it sometimes means doing nothing.
