I forgot to mention that Frieda, my friend Maria Heinrich’s wonderful Junkyard Dog, is the inspiration for Wild Dog. She should get the credit. A rescue found wild on the grounds of the Adrondack Community College, she and I have fallen in love. A different experience from my dogs, but a powerful one. Frieda wanted to eat me until recently, and now we cuddle all the time.
