July 22, 2008 – Every morning, before writing, I take the dogs out into the deep woods, the camera now just as much a part of the walk as the dogs, and we hike out then, everybody panting a bit, head back to the farmhouse, and every day the light plays on the barns differently, and through the woods, and every day I try and capture it, and sometimes, I even do. The dogs, all working dogs tuned to me, pause at the end of the walk and hang out while I take a photo. Got the light on this one, and an almost surreal sense of the morning.
