March 25, 2008 – My day begins by my bringing breakfast to the Barn Cats, Mother and Minnie. Strictly speaking, real farmers don’t bring their barn cats canned tuna and kibble every morning, but these two are always hanging around me and the dogs, walking with us in the woods, popping up when we herd sheep. They are voracious rodent hunters and I figure I am saving a few birds by feeding them. Besides, I’m fond of them. It’s a nice way to start your day, feeding Barn Cats. Neither has ever been inside the farmhouse, or wants to come.
