March 20, 2008 – Cool, clouding. Winston Jr. begins his daily patrol around the Pig Barn every morning around 6 a.m. Winston Jr. is a gentle soul, as most of the creatures on the farm are. He is definitely a rooster with a purpose, though and a fitting successor to his venerable father, Winston Sr., who is slowing down.
  Busy day today. Going to meet with Steve McLean, the Hound of Heaven, then to doctor for routine visit. Made a new friend in Saratoga, and new friendships always seem miraculous to me, gifts. Poor Paula coming up for Easter weekend. Some friends coming over for dinner on the weekend. Still to much ice and snow for much herding, but many walks in the woods. Lots of reading. Definitely the whiff of God in the air.
