March 17, 2008 – Solid sign of Spring is the resumption of the Chicken Patrol, a daily sweep of the farm, pasture and grounds for bugs and worms and seeds, led by the hens, including Coquette and with Winston taking up the rear and Winston Jr. riding shotgun. Have two roosters waking me up in the morning now, and it’s a nice sound. The troop pauses to sit by the Pig Barn and take in the sun, but otherwise are on the move all day. Above they are heading for the bird feeder.
