January 18, 2007 – Cold, getting colder. Farm dramas. Elvis has two swollen joints. We are exploring medicine and heatpacks, and I don’t even want to think about getting a heat pack on him, except to stuff his mouth with candy bars and Clementines, which he loves. I have to take Rose to the vet, as I a concerned about her hearing. Something is off with her.
  Winston the rooster is barely moving in the cold, and I wonder if it’s his last winter. Two ewes, the oldest, are moving slowly, often apart from the others, never a good sign for sheep. Last  year, we didn’t lose a single animal, and I know that can’t last forever.
