November 12, 2007 – Cold, cloudly. This weekend I’ll got to a photo show in Saratoga, at All the Right Angles, 536 Maple Street (518 587-4320) from 12 to 5 Saturday. I will be showing my photos, Anthony his concrete artworks. Izzy and Lenore will come. After that, it’s time to withdraw into writing. Talk at 2 p.m., chats through the afternoon. I am happy about my evolution as a photographer, though daunted by how little I know.
I have a lot of work to to do, and I’m ready to do it, I think, after a turbulent summer and fall. We are ready for winter at the farm, and will dig in. Up early, dogs walked chores done by 7, and at the keyboards with coffee till 2 or 3 p.m. No shows, readings, appearances, little socializing. It’s stunning to think Thanksgiving is next week but Paula and Em will be here, which is neat. I am eager for my new website, photosbyjonkatz.com to go up. Hoping to see my friend Becky today. She has new and exciting things in her life. I am struck by the tug and the pull. For everything you gain, you lose something. For everything you lose, you gain something.
