July 15, 2007 – Heading into the maelstrom, for Texas, then Minneapolis, then Connecticut for the book tour, then back to the farm. Saw my book on the NYT bestseller list today, which was nice. Anthony came by to say goodbye, which was also nice. Becky came by yesterday and Maria is driving me to the airport. Paula is somewhere in NJ working on her book. Always sad to leave the farm.
But there is good news, as always. Gardenworks in Salem, N.Y. has agreed to host a Harvest Art weekend in early October, showing art works by Mary Kellogg the poet, Maria Heinrich’s fiber sculpture, Anthony Armstrong’s concrete art designs, and some of my photographs of Bedlam Farms and other farms. We are all coming out, in different ways, with different art. Gardenworks and I will be disclosing details to come, and I much look forward to it. Be back towards the end of the week. I’ll miss the animals. Izzy can’t go, Rose has the farm to run, but Annie will be here watching things. Can’t do better than that.
I call this picture “waiting.”
