Rose has only worked with goats once or twice, but when we had to get these two (see journal entry below) into the HBO Memorial Pen in advance of a rapidly approaching storm, and Annie and I were proving not match for these fleet-footed creatures, we called in Rose, who got the idea right away, circled the goats, then chased them into the pen, and then, to the command “Hold Them,” sat in the door until we got a string and were able to close it and secure the windows. The goats considered charging her, but she held her ground and they thought better of it, wisely. This is why I am not sure I could live on the farm without her. They don’t give trial ribbons for this.
